NASCAR Mailbox: Will Kyle Busch Regain His Daytona Pace?

March 11, 2026

It was another frustrating week for Kyle Busch. The two-time Cup champion finished 17th after a flat tire on lap 93 led to damage on the No. 8 Chevrolet, and he was fortunate that a Shane van Gisbergen spin allowed him to get the free pass after going a lap down.

Denny Hamlin returned to the racetrack where his heart was broken just a few short months ago. Following a challenging offseason and a rough first few weeks of the season, Hamlin has begun to mount a recovery in the points. He currently sits 12th, just seven points above The Chase cut line.

Will Busch return find the pace he had in Daytona? Is the No. 11 team beginning to move in the right direction?

Frontstretch’s Ben Lloyd answers these questions in this week’s episode of the NASCAR Mailbox.

  1. Regarding Kyle Busch, just who has won in RCR Cup cars more than a fluke at a superspeedway? Well, there’s Dale of course. Oh, and Kevin Harvick. And then there is… no one. That’s your answer.
