Former Joe Gibbs Racing competition director Chris Gabehart can continue working with Spire Motorsports, a judge has ruled, according to court documents reviewed by Frontstretch on March 2.

Gabehart is currently involved in a lawsuit with his former employer JGR after the organization accused Gabehart of leaking valuable information to Spire.

According to the latest court documents, 24 hours following a Feb. 26 hearing, Spire’s co-owner, Jeff Dickerson, spoke with FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass that Gabehart’s role at Spire includes “giving him autonomy to help Spire’s NASCAR program.”

As part of the ruling, Gabehart cannot perform any duties in his new role at Spire that he would have done at JGR as its competition director.

Additionally, there is a $100,000 bond placed on JGR as just a placeholder with a deadline of noon on March 5 for the court order defendants to provide any responsive briefing for the trial.

The parties directly involved are scheduled to meet again on March 16.
