Jonathan Wheatley is out as team principal of Audi Revolut F1 Team, the organization announced March 20.

Wheatley’s tenure ends just two races into the 2026 Formula 1 season.

Mattia Binotto will be Audi’s new team principal.

“Our focus remains unchanged: we are concentrating all our efforts on building a team competing at the highest level that will challenge for world championships in Formula 1 by 2030. We will continuously develop our organizational structures to achieve our shared goal in a sustainable manner.”

Binotto was previously the head of Audi F1 Project, a role he will continue to assume in addition to the team principal move.

After two races, Audi is eighth in the constructors’ championship with a best result of ninth from Gabriel Bortoleto in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
